Guest guest
Marilyn - I do exactly the same when I am on pred. Over 10mg per day I put on weight at 10mg a day I can just about stay the same; under 10 I can manage to lose - if I ever get off it I shall probably suffer dramatic weight loss!! I do things like eating a whole packet of biscuits - it doesn't do my diabetes any good at all, but I just can't help it!! I have more sympathy with people who are chronic over eaters - it must be hormonal. Try and binge on things like fruit and yogurt - it's a bit healthier!! Guest guest
Liz, my mom said that bingeing on fruit is just as bad if not worse if you are diabetic! I think this ranks up here with " You can't win for losing! " I took my last dose of Pred this morning - hopefully I can look forward to sleeping again soon - how long does it take to get it out of your system at low doses? Besides not soon enough! Guest guest
If I didn't get off, I told the doctor that I would BITE HIM! It worked! And my hearing seems to be back to normal, so far, all is AOK. I just wonder how long this stuff stays in your system, or more accurately, how long am I going to be eating as if this is my last meal? Guest guest
Well, yes, it's just as bad from the sugar point of view, but it's still healthier overall. Also fructose goes into the system more slowly than sucrose, and at least you get the benefits of the vitamins etc!! And it's low fat. Usually I feel so guilty after a binge I go and walk on the treadmill, which helps a bit!!! Guest guest
Doesn't matter, good or bad, I LOVE it and will never give it up! So God had just better make sure that it's not a problem for me! LOL, Judy
Guest guest
Liz, unfortunately, the only thing on a " GO " is my appetite. However, God willing, Spring will actually arrive and I will get to walk outside around the neighborhood - beats the heck out of the treadmill! Unfortunately at the moment I'm still on a seefood diet - I see food, I eat it! I'm so waiting for spring, of course, as I look out the window, it's snowing!! The calendar says Spring arrives next week, I just hope it doesn't arrive on a snow shovel. LOL, Judy O

Actually, although walking outside is lovely, I find the treadmill is a lot easier on my back and knees!!
