Marilyn - I do exactly the same when I am on pred.

Over 10mg per day I put on weight at 10mg a day I can

just about stay the same; under 10 I can manage to

lose - if I ever get off it I shall probably suffer

dramatic weight loss!! I do things like eating a

whole packet of biscuits - it doesn't do my diabetes

any good at all, but I just can't help it!! I have

more sympathy with people who are chronic over eaters

- it must be hormonal. Try and binge on things like

fruit and yogurt - it's a bit healthier!! Love Liz

If I didn't get off, I told the doctor that I would BITE HIM! It worked!

And my hearing seems to be back to normal, so far, all is AOK. I just wonder

how long this stuff stays in your system, or more accurately, how long am I

going to be eating as if this is my last meal? LOL< Judy O

Wow, great you've been able to get off the Pred. I envy you. Marilyn

Liz, unfortunately, the only thing on a " GO " is my appetite. However, God

willing, Spring will actually arrive and I will get to walk outside around

the neighborhood - beats the heck out of the treadmill! Unfortunately at the

moment I'm still on a seefood diet - I see food, I eat it! I'm so waiting

for spring, of course, as I look out the window, it's snowing!! The calendar

says Spring arrives next week, I just hope it doesn't arrive on a snow

shovel. LOL, Judy O

Judy, I feel it gets out of your system very quickly

as far as the benefits go. The other day I was out

with the girls, we ate out, then carried on shopping,

suddenly I started getting quite severe pain in my

ankle and knee, and short of breath. I checked my

meds, and I had forgotten to take my evening dose of

pred! After I took it, about 40 mins later the pain

diminished and my breathing improved! Mind you I

think it is easy to get into the overeating pattern,

and you have to really work to get out of it. I find

exercise the best defense - 15 mins walking seems to

help diminish my appetite, so I drink a glass of water

and try and walk as briskly as possible, every day,

then I do find my eating patterns improve. It's a

stop go process!!!! Love Liz

It's easier, but it is so boring! Actually, I will be able to start walkiing

outside pretty soon, we may actually hit 50 degrees this week! Cause for

celebration. I love watching the trees bud and the flowers come up, such a

miraculous time of rebirth. Quiite a few years ago, I started walking

(probably while I was on disbility for something or other), for a freinds'

wedding (I was in the bridal party), and lost I don't know how much, but I

went from a size 16 to a size 10 - they had to completely remake my

bridesmaid dress! And it was so painless, my favorite time of the year

(along with Autumn), and I love to walk, so it was perfect for me. PLUS I am

now off the Pred (hopefully for a very long time), so I should be healthier

and thinner by summer which definitely works for me! The only concern my

husband has is if I fall or keel over (I have a history of strokes and

seizures) who will know where I am? I think I will just have to trust God on

that one, because as it gets warmer I am itching to get out there! LOL, Judy
