Guest guest
Whoa! again... Well, as a not-so-little old lady in tennis shoes, I don't worry about soccer hits... tee-hee! As for kissing. Ummm -- you need strong jaws for that??? Well, I like variety in smooches as much as the next person, but I've had no trouble at all kissing " properly, " with or without strong jaws. I think your sweetie is unlikely to dislodge anything with a smooch. Probably with other, um, emotional oral antics, as well. Just my view, though. I haven't, as they say, pushed it to the max. And heaven knows, neither Miss Manners nor I recommends taking left hooks to the jaw, pre or post op. Guest guest
i had upper and genio a little over 3 months ago. i'm not paranoid about my chin being hit at all. 2 weeks ago a group of my friends and i went on a snowboarding trip. i ran into this pretty big guy on one of the hills. i fell on my face and his legs flipped out from under him and he landed right on the back of my head smashing the left side of my face into the ground. my immediate reaction was to touch my upper jaw and see if it was just hanging there. nothing happened besides scrapes on my left cheek and chin and a bloody nose. i was up and snowboarding the rest of the week. i saw my os as soon as i got back. he said that if my bones were going to break they would have broken before surgery. at 3 months your bones are completely healed and they are as strong as they were plus extra reinforcement from the screws! aileen --- coolman9091 coolman9091@...> wrote: --------------------------------- I am now 8 months post op and still paronid about someone touching my chin or having my chin knocked. Also for those of you gius who had any relapss, what were the reasons for relapse that your surgeon told you?? Also how long was it for you post op folks, that you could start kissing properly at without thinking whether or not your jaw would be strong enough?? thanx
