I guess I have have pretty good insurance, so I only had to pay a

100.00 copayment for outpatient surgery. The braces are another

story though, that's costing me about 3500.00 out of pocket.

Everyone's insurance is different. Our braces were $4600 and the ortho gave

us $1000 off and our dental insurance paid $1000 so we will pay a total of $2600

out of pocket. We are still fighting our medical insurance (after the surgery).

We have had to pay $3800 to the surgeon, $4880 to the hospital and $1090 to the

anethesiologist. From past posts at this site our costs have been dramatically

less than others. Good luck.

My insurance (Empire BC/BS) wouldn't cover my surgery. They paid the

hospital bill, about 15k if I recall correctly. I had to cover the

surgeon and anesthesiologist - about 15k more. My wife said " no

Porsche for you this year " , LOL.

Best of luck to you for both the surgery and insurance.
