Guest guest
Hi, Well it does sound like you and your parents and the surgeon have done some research, but I would like to let you know to be very careful about having surgery at such a young age. When I was 12 I began to develop my underbite. At age 14 it was at about 3mm. I was 5 foot 7 " at that age, and the doctors where pretty sure I was done growing. However, at that time we did not have the money to go ahead with jaw surgery... And that now is a good thing! I am 21, 5 foot 10 " and my jaw has only grown more since then. It is 7mm now. So if I had gotten surgery at 14, I would be doing it all over again at this point. So just be careful. Anyways, I am finally getting surgery... In about 3-4 months. But good luck. I hope everything is okay for you. Just don't always take doctors words for solid truth. If you are able to wait, sometimes it is better.
