I'm not second-guessing your docs, or at least don't mean to be. They know a heckuva lot more than I do. But honest, one swim season, even if you're up for the Olympics and are the next budding Markette Spitz, is not enough reason to screw up your jaw, should that be the result (which, I gather it will not).
