Guest guest
, I had upper/lower surgery on 30 Oct 03. No, the surgery wasn't bad and I don't regret having it done. I do look different - most people have told me I look like a little girl (I'm 42)...but, then again, I'd always been told I look a lot younger than I really am (I think people are just being kind. LOL!). At first, I was very unhappy with my results, but, as many others here have done, I was looking at my face and expecting too much too early in the game. Now that the swelling has subsided quite a bit, I am VERY happy with the results. VERY HAPPY! The recovery isn't so bad, the first few days are the worst, but they are not unbearable, just uncomfortable. I had little or no pain at all the whole time. I'm 4 months post-op now and I still have a little swelling and numbness, but it's almost gone. At the rate I'm going, I figure in a couple of months or so, I should be back to normal...whatever that is. :-) Worrying is something you don't have to do. You must remember that with any kind of surgery, there are always risks involved, but worrying will not help matters...only make them worse. So, if possible, sit back and enjoy the ride. And as Cammie said to someone else, " keep your eye on the prize " . Smooches upper/lower soon hi, i just had some questions as far as upper, lower surgery to correct underbite, is it bad , will i regret it, how is recovery, will i look different, i am 33 years old and am schedule to have surgery in april, i have had braces for 12months, i am starting to get nervous, i have lived with this for this long but have always wanted my underbite corrected and now i am starting to worry about difficultys and will i regret this surgery. i battled my insurance company for a year and finally won the battle, a now all i have to worry about is the surgery itself , help please with some words of encouragement. thank you so much , jennifer ------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Guest guest
Hi, . I'm having upper and lower done next week, also for an underbite. I'm 33, too! I'm a little nervous about the recovery, but, like the others said, I'm keeping my eyes on the prize. By far, most people seem very happy after the worst of the healing is done. :-) Eileen > , > > I had upper/lower surgery on 30 Oct 03. No, the surgery wasn't bad and I don't regret having it done.
