Guest guest
Thanks for your response. When you get the intra-oral, do you feel a bit of a " click " or movement at all when the MLD therapist presses on the roof of your mouth. That is what worries me. We are not allowed to bite or chew in case it moves something, so when she presses on the roof of my mouth, isn't that putting pressure like biting? > > Hi. Guest guest
Hmm, no I don't feel that. But it's not really the roof of your mouth, the palate, that is a concern with upper jaw surgery. At least not with mine. I was " mushing " and sucking things into the top of my mouth long before I was chewing.. The up and down, side to side of chewing is what could move the bones, which wouldn't be good. Is the " click " you feel in your joint? If so, then the therapist is pressing too hard. Really, the intra-oral massage should be very, very light. It's a manipulation of the skin ( with the lymphatic system right underneath), not any muscles or bones. Good luck tomorrow, Alix-- - In orthognathicsurgerysupport , " wiredfornow " wrote: > Thanks for your response.
