Guest guest
, I am 8 weeks postop and having MLD 3 times a week. I also have the intra-oral massage and it really does help the drainage. As far as I know, there is nothing this could do to damage your healing. I had upper as well. The massage should be light, which if your therapist does it correctly, it will be. I asked my surgeon about it when I first began and he laughed and said there wasn't much MLD could do to all the hardware he put in my jaw. Of course, if you're uncomfortable with it, you shouldn't feel like you have to do it. But over time, (and I started MLD at 4 weeks) the intra-oral massage has helped the most with the swelling inside my mouth and the drainage from my nose. Good luck to you in your healing! Guest guest
Hey , I had MLD therapy post op. One therapist I had was very gentle. But, her partner was less 'intuitive' and I had to tell her that I was not feeling too comfortable with the amount of pressure she was using. So, if you feel that your therapist is using too much pressure, let her know. good luck, harrison > > Hi.
