Guest guest
Hi Shiloh! I'm sorry to hear that you're going to need more surgery. I never had genio so I couldn't comment on what it's like to have genio and upper vs just upper. I think you should go with the genio. I don't think you're being vain. If you're not happy with the way your chin looks then no matter how perfect your bite is, you'll never be 100% satisfied with the results. From what others have reported from genio, the recovery/pain from it have been minimal compared to the jaw surgery. You might as well get it done all at once. You asked in another post about numbness. I also had lower and upper done separately (but planned like that beforehand). I did have numbness from the upper surgery (upper lips all the way up to my eyes) but it only lasted a few months. I still have numbness on my chin and lower lips 17 months after the lower surgery but I have tinglies so someday that sensation should come back too. Even if it doesn't, it's no big deal since I've gotten used to it. I hope you have a smooth and uneventful orthognathic journey this time. > Hi All, > Long time no post, however I've been busy I guess - Feb in Canada! > > Have second appointment with surgeon tomorrow for my uppers. > He agreed that doing the lower jaw only was too conservative but > that it was not NOT I repeat any relapse.
