Guest guest
Hi, I had plates and screws removed 3 weeks ago from the upper and the chin. Mine was done outpatient surgery due to how high up the top plate was, but I know some people have it done in the doctors office with IV sedation and a local shot (like at the dentist). The incisions were made just like the first surgery at the gumline. It was sore and swollen for a few days. But compared to the main surgery it was a piece of cake. I'm sure that you will do fine, good luck. a > Can anyone tell me what is involved in getting the plates removed?? I > am most definatly getting them out. Guest guest
My mom talked to my surgeon today and he said he's never had to take plates out before, so i will be the first! I have an appointment with him next week to talk about it and we will have to go through the insurance company again and see if they will even pay for it, and he said i will have to go back to the hospital and be put to sleep for it. > > Can anyone tell me what is involved in getting the plates removed?? > I > > am most definatly getting them out.
