Guest guest
Wishing, , and all the best for your surgery coming up. I think you mentioned about parents. Yes I have the same stuff with mine. I feel like I have to help them get through my jaw surgery. They have been helpful physically in helping clean up my blender messes and running errands and looking after my little girl, but emotionally I feel I have to help them. Thanks for good wishes for my recovery. Yes I'm up to the maximum swelling stage and feeling tired, I slept a lot today. But I was able to go for a short walk this evening. It's 32C here (in Perth) or something like 90F I suppose for those of you in US, which seems like everyone probably. It helped me I think that I didn't use the IV narcotics at all so I'm not feeling spacey (although I still have minimal concentraction). I'm over the blending already! (I wish!). My husband looked at my blended meal laid out on a tray and said it looked nice. I said I'd gladly swap. I don't know how long I have like this, (I'll find out when I see my orthodotist and then my maxillo facial surgeon on Friday). I feel hungry most of the time, except just after my meals. I guess it will be several weeks at least. My jaw is sore if I talk too much or eat but you get that. I'm off out to get a jaw xray tomorrow, to take to my surgeon. , I found with my previous jaw surgery that yes the stuff -Savicol good for mouthwash antibiotic type properties but does cause teeth staining. You will be pleased to know that your dentist should be able to remove the stains, and yes when my braces are off, I want to get my teeth whitened as well, damn it, I may even get a diamond put on one of my teeth to indicate the amount of money we've spent so far on this journey. (I have two teeth implants as well). My story is the result of a genetic overbite, but mostly a dentist who decided to remove 6 of my back molars when I was 11 years old -causing my upper jaw not to need to grow to it's proper width and leaving me with gaps in my lower teeth between the front and further back teeth and as a result they fell into the gaps and wrecked my bite etc etc...I guess we all have stories. your nose surgery sounds more extensive than mine, but I don't actually have pain in that area (unless I was knocked), so hopefully that surgery at least shouldn't be too much of a drama, (I guess looking on the bright side it'll prepare you mentally for the bigger surgery so you know what to expect of your time in hospital). Lia, you are very brave - be prepared for the wild ride I hope you have some close emotional support, if your parents are not there? I feel for you. (it's a bit confusing having 2 of us on the site!) follow your heart -if you are unhappy with your jaw -you must do what you need to do, or it will always bother you. However, the people that have treated me, say that people having the surgery in their teens and early 20's generally have a harder time emotionally going through the trauma, than people older than that -so I guess support is very important.
