Guest guest
Hi , how have you been? Thing are finally getting back to normal around here. I have not been able to keep up with my emails because i have been so busy. I made my second trip to UCSD in Ca. This last trip i was out there on March 7-9. I had my stent changed. My first stent had scar tissue forming around it. It was a wire mesh stent. The stent that i have now is a silicone stent. This doctor dialated the area where he replaced the old stent. I feel so much better. I am so glad that my problem was not because i had active RP. I am down to 25mgs or pred and tapering very slowly. My Rhuemy is droppin my Metho as well. So i am just praying my RP i Quieting down or gone into remission. We'll see. Hello to the group Take care love veronica

That scares me a little, since the drs are tryilng to figure out why I am always hoarse on chemo day and after too? Was that your original problem - hoarseness? Did it progress to this? Please let me know your thouoghts, if you have time. Good luck and God bless! Love, Judy O
Guest guest
Hi Judy, Yes, when i first got sick, my voice was hoarse for about a month. It felt as though the inside of my neck was pulling. I felt a big strain on vocal cords just to get words out. My neck was tender to touch, it hurt to swallow. This was back in Oct 97. I havn't had any sore throats since then, thank goodness. It seem like only yesterday when i started getting sick and didn't know what was happening to me. I hope this helps. Take care >From: JOstry93@... >Reply-To: Rpolychondritis >To: Rpolychondritis >Subject: Re: veronica >Date: Mon, 23 Apr 2001 14:06:45 EDT > >In a message dated 04/20/2001 7:18:43 AM Central Daylight Time, >veronicaharvey@... writes: > ><< My vocal cords > are scared and they dont open wide enough as they should when i'm > talking or breathing. I keep telling my husband that he needs to walk behind me, not in front, so he can pick up all the parts that are falling off my body!! (Great mental picture!), but I figure, I'm still, walking, talking, kicking, and screaming - so it can't be THAT bad! Love, Judy >>
