Guest guest
I am 3 weeks post lower jaw operation. I gained lots of first hand experience form reading this web site as well as encouragement and comfort. My recovery was almost going by the book. I am going back to work now. I started to feel a little bit frustrated because recovery seems to slow down after 2 weeks. The reduced swelling dosen't seem to decrease as fast as 2nd week. Through I did need to use any of the pain medication recently. But minor pain around the sites or associated with the sites still occurs occationally to remind myself I am still not very well yet. I resumed my activity 2 weeks after the operation--like driving, talking on the phone and some meetings, I always have the concern not to hurt my jaw for whatever I am doing. Do any of you know any rule of thumb that what kind of boundry I sould follow besides not playing contact sports? And any limits of movement besides the two rubber bands between my upper and lower jaw? Since some pain associted with motion may or may not be a warning sign of the ideal limits of motion. My doctor just told me as I feel like to. So I am always trying to check the boundries, but don't know for sure. Thanks for your input.
