Guest guest
Guys, my nose has gone completely wacky and takes a new shape daily! I am attributing most of it to swelling..I hope! Guest guest
I am having the same thoughts although I am only 8 days post-op and still a bit swollen. But I had a great nose pre-surgery and now I think it looks awful. I am going to the doctor today and am going to ask him about it. Please keep me posted on what you hear about this. No one said anything to me up front about possible changes to my face above the upper jaw. Needless to say, I am NOT going to be happy if I end up with a horrible looking profile post-surgery. Guest guest
I had upper/lower/genio in August 2002. HOnestly, 8 days, or 3 weeks, or even 8 weeks is not long enough to see the final result. There is internal swelling that will take a long time to go away, up to a year or more. My upper lip felt tight for months post-op. It all takes time. You may indeed have permanent change, or not, but I think it's too early to judge the change at the stage you're at. If you're really unhappy, your surgeon might be able to do something about it, but I'd wait for a good period of time to see what the real outcome is, and certainly get over the major healing of the work you've had done so far. > I just came back from long vacation, and I still haven't got any > reply from my surgeon. Guest guest
I know how you feel because I am in the same boat. My surgeon said that when he leveled my upper jaw he probably did not take enough off to allow for my nose, so therefore it is slightly crooked. It looks much better after 5 weeks, but i can feel the cartlidge at the bottom is curved and I don't think that will change. Yours may be different and it will likely correct itself once all the swelling goes down. Just give it time. I had Rhinoplasty several years ago due to a broken nose, so before surgery my nose was perfect. I was concerned about possible changes, so I asked my surgeon who told me it would not affect it much. Well, If I just would've known, I likely would have opted for lower surgery only. Now, mine will likely need a revision which is minor surgery, but I just hate to have to go through any more. But the rest of my face looks so straight now that I cannot live with a crooked nose. Stay in touch and let me know how it goes for you.
