Guest guest Posted February 8, 2004 Report Share Posted February 8, 2004 I had the surgery (upper only) for an open bite that was open in the back (Only my 2 front teeth originally touched). I had the surgery 7 1/2 weeks ago, and after the splint came out at 6 weeks (and still now), only about half of my teeth touch. The ones that still don't touch are in the back. The orthodontist feels that it won't take long to get them touching, but I won't really feel good about things until they do. I did not have the situation you mentioned with ending up with overbite vs. underbite. > heya, I had my op last monday for an overbite, bottom jaw back and > top jaw forward. and it is sooo not as bad as I thought it would > be!!! If yes, that is normal.
