my co-worker's trainer gave her an article from the june 2003 issue

of " personal fitness professional " on the benefits of whey protein &

it's key amino acids. here's some of the highlights:

" whey prot has been clinically proven to build muscle & improve

athletic performance. it has also been shown to help reduce body

fat while @ the same time increase lean muscle mass when taken as

part of an exercise program. another important benefit of the prot

is its ability to raise levels of IGF-1, a muscle-building chemical,

& decrease levels of cortisol, a muscle-depleting substance...

....taking one supplement of whey prot each day is proven to increase

strength & build muscle;control appetite & aid in weight

loss;maintain immune function;improve endurance & boost energy

levels;promote cirulatory system health;& stimulate brain function. "

the article also gives a reference website: www.wheyoflife.org

we're a " little " different than athletes, but i've heard the praises

of whey from nutritionists @ wls meetings.
