Guest guest
I have a big problem. I have received no help after surgery from my doctor. I have no idea what I am supposed to be eating or supplements to take. I hear alot about protein and carbs, but have no idea how much. I pretty much eat whatever I want and hope for the best. Please, Please, Please help me. I have stopped losing weight and need to get back on track. Thanks to all of you who read my ramble!! Guest guest
One suppport group i attended the same thing happened to them. Some surgeons dont really give their patients the help they need. Did he tell you liquid so long, then pureed so long etc. I am willing to share what my surgeon gave me and I am sure many other people are willing to do the same. Share a bit more where you are at in your journey. When did you have your surgery, what type, etc. I will be back online later tonight and I will share my plan with you if you still need the information. Guest guest
Remember this is just my surgeon, and many surgeons have their own programs, but here is mine. 70 grams of protein each day and that should be about 70-75% of your total calories a day Carbs should only be about 10 - 20% of your total calories Fats 5 - 15% of total calories 600 - 800 calories for the first 6 months. 3 meals a day, low starch, high protein and one high protein snack a day. I hope this helps a little. It does seem a bit hard to follow.. good thing I am only 2.5 weeks..lol I have time to learn more about it. Lori - MI Open RnY 8/1/03 > > > I have a big problem.
