I found two that work well for me, but i am not picky in the least

bit. One at walmart of all places. EAS Chocolate and then I bought

the " Bucket 'o Protein " at GNC. It was American Whey. It is only

20 gms per half scoop, but not bad. I mix it with skim milk. I am

not having any problems with milk. I tried the IsoPure drink.. ohhh

man i could not take that. I dont like sweet things, crystal lite,

etc. I just cant get it down, too sweet.

Good luck finding something that makes you feel good. I am going to

look for the powder isopure. I love the idea of 50grms per

serving. That would be better than having to drink 2 - 3 a day like

i am now.. ugggg..

A trick I found that works with the protein shakes. I make them and

I freeze them. Then I scrape the frozen shake with a spoon. It's so

hot in CA that this makes me feel like I'm having icecream, or kind

of a slushy as it melts. Hey, whatever works, right?

Great idea!! I will have to try that! What part of CA? I was born

in Orange and lived for a while in Garden Grove. I have a friend

who lives in Mill Valley north of San Fran. She is dying for me to

come and visit. She goes to some kind of hands on healing/therapy

and the woman said she is just dying to get her hands on a gastric

bypass patient...lol Sounds like it might be fun..lol

I use 100% Whey Protein from GNC has 20g per serving (but that is all

we can absorb at one time) it is great! The isopure to me does not

taste all that good. But we are all different in our tastes.

So even tho ispure says 50g you are not getting it...only 20g of it

is absorbed.

Hi,

I make the Isopure, but I do not take the whole thing in one sitting.

It takes me a good part of the morning, a couple of ounces at a

time. I am sure I can absorb all the protein at that slow rate. If

not, please let me know. I don't really like the taste of the

IsoPure Chocolate, either. I'm mad it doesnt come in smaller

containers! But if I can get 50 gms of protein in 12 oz rather than

24 or more, I would rather do that, slow but sure wins the race!

LORI,

Could you pass the name to me so I can check it out? Thanks,

R.

Re: Protein Shakes

I found a protein at GNC that claims to be virtually tasteless. It

also comes with recipes as this product can be mixed in cooking. I

have not tried it yet. I mixed it with my apple sauce and I didnt

like the look of it..lol presentation is everything.lol. They do

have free samples if you want to try it first.

HI! I'm fairly new to this group, and have been lurking. I have had my

initial appt. with the bariatric coordinator and have my appt. with the

nutritionist and surgeon on Sept. 2nd. Anyway, I have been doing low carb

for a while and have several recipes that use protien powders in them that I

think would be appropriate for after WLS since they are high in protien, low

in carbs, no sugar, and fairly low in calories. I would be happy to share

some of them if you are interested.
