Glad to hear you had a restful night and were able to get out for

awhile today. Just try to keep ahead of the pain. Sounds like you

have a wonderful surgeon. I have now learned calling the GI is

fruitless. My pain management Dr called me in some demerol today and

wants to see me on wednesday for another celiac block. I told him

only if I have a written agreement that I will be sedated and that he

will give me meds to counteract the back pain and headaches from it.

He agreed....

Here's to another good nights sleep & good day.

Peace,

> Hello all,

> I had called my surgeon yesterday because my panc pain was getting

worse and the pain meds were not knocking it out like they normally

do. I knew calling the GI was pointless, they'd just tell me to go

to the ER, which would likely be a big waste of time and money. I

didn't hear back from my surgeon yesterday but I finally ended up

falling asleep around 6 p.m. yesterday and when I woke up at 11 p.m.

I felt much better. I slept through the night and had not had any

pain med since 3 p.m. I made a short run to Wal-mart and then went

to get my nails done. I needed a lighter nail color on since I'm

having the colonoscopy on Tuesday. They fussed at me when Ihad the

ERCP done cause my polish was so dark, the pulse-ox thing wouldn't

work on my finger. Anyway, just as I got home, my surgeon called on

my cell phone. He had called the house and since I wasn't home,

hubby gave him my cell number. He apologized for not calling

yesterday and asked what was going on. I explained to him that I had

been having increasing pain but was now much better. He told me not

to let the pain get bad even if it means doubling up on the dose. He

told me to be sure to callhim back if I got worse again. He

apologized for not being able to get in touch with the GI doc to find

out about the ERCP vs surgery issue for me. He assured me he will

talk to the GI on Monday and have an answer for me. He told me not

to hesitate to call him if I need him. I just wanted to cry. He is

so understanding and compassionate. I told him he just didn't know

how much I appreciate everything he's done for me. He said, " well, I

really haven't done anything for you yet. " I told him that just his

understanding and compassion was much more than anyone else has done

and that it means the world to me. I wish I could clone this guy and

make him into every type of specialist anyone would need!

>

> Unfortunately, shortly after talking to him I started hurting

again. It's not as bad as it was yesterday, so hopefully the pain

med will kick in shortly and take care of it. It was nice getting

out of the house for a bit, but I think I'll probably just kick back

and rest for the remainder of the day.

Hi ,

Sorry to hear that your pain is returning. Hopefully it won't be as bad this

time and the pain meds will do there job. Good luck with your scope tomorrow.

I hope all goes well for you. I'll keep you in my prayers.

Take Care,

Louie in WV

my surgeon

Hello all,

I had called my surgeon yesterday because my panc pain was getting worse and

the pain meds were not knocking it out like they normally do. I knew calling

the GI was pointless, they'd just tell me to go to the ER, which would likely be

a big waste of time and money. I didn't hear back from my surgeon yesterday but

I finally ended up falling asleep around 6 p.m. yesterday and when I woke up at

11 p.m. I felt much better. I slept through the night and had not had any pain

med since 3 p.m. I made a short run to Wal-mart and then went to get my nails

done. I needed a lighter nail color on since I'm having the colonoscopy on

Tuesday. They fussed at me when Ihad the ERCP done cause my polish was so dark,

the pulse-ox thing wouldn't work on my finger. Anyway, just as I got home, my

surgeon called on my cell phone. He had called the house and since I wasn't

home, hubby gave him my cell number. He apologized for not calling yesterday

and asked what was going on. I explained to him that I had been having

increasing pain but was now much better. He told me not to let the pain get bad

even if it means doubling up on the dose. He told me to be sure to callhim back

if I got worse again. He apologized for not being able to get in touch with the

GI doc to find out about the ERCP vs surgery issue for me. He assured me he

will talk to the GI on Monday and have an answer for me. He told me not to

hesitate to call him if I need him. I just wanted to cry. He is so

understanding and compassionate. I told him he just didn't know how much I

appreciate everything he's done for me. He said, " well, I really haven't done

anything for you yet. " I told him that just his understanding and compassion

was much more than anyone else has done and that it means the world to me. I

wish I could clone this guy and make him into every type of specialist anyone

would need!

Unfortunately, shortly after talking to him I started hurting again. It's not

as bad as it was yesterday, so hopefully the pain med will kick in shortly and

take care of it. It was nice getting out of the house for a bit, but I think

I'll probably just kick back and rest for the remainder of the day.

Hope this finds everyone doing well.

Hi Jess

I know you feel discouraged but there are procedures that all the insurance

companies must have met before you can even see a surgeon to discuss the option

for WLS. Don't take it personally this is just the way it goes. Your

insurance may very well require you to participate in the optifast program and

any

other programs before you can qualify for their approval. Hey we did not put

all this weight on overnight so we cannot expect to receive the surgery to help

us overnight either. There are many steps you will have to complete a few

will be a complete physical by your primary physician, a psychological

evaluation, blood tests, sonograms of your gallbladder and veins and lots more

and this

all must be completed for them to consider you for the surgery. Don't be

discouraged dear one just pray and have patience your blessing will surely come

whatever direction in the journey it may be. If you would like to email one on

one please feel free ok at grimmlah1@... and I will give you everything

in detail so you can be aware ok. Have a great night.
