You are only to wait until a year after surgery for your own body to heal itself properly. The pouches do stretch and you can eat sweetheart any way with your line of thinking how do healthy normal sized women ever have babies lol they do. It is all about the quality of the food put inside your body not the amount you can intake. Take care and read as much as you can especially if you are considering having a baby later on. I have my one daughter who is 14 years old and I am not interested in having anymore children ) Keep the questions coming there are wonderful. Guest guest
Dez, A healthy pregnancy isn't out of the question. You just need to be diligent about taking your supplements and get close prenatal attention. My surgeon explained to me that one of the biggest concerns is not that the growing fetus isn't getting enough nutrients, but that the pregnant woman is being depleated. The wonder of nature is that the developing child will usually draw its needs from your body and YOU will be the first to suffer from deficiencies; however, if you comply with the post-op supplemental requirements and include extra iron, folic acid, and prenatal vitamins all should be well. My daughter is 14 years old now and I gained my most of my weight during my pregnancy and never lost it and then gained some more LOL. I am personally not interested in ever getting pregnant again and my only child will stay just that an only child LOL. But a lot of women suffered from being obese and it stopped them from being able to get pregnant so I can see why women once they can get pregnant ... do...LOL because they couldn't before. Once this weight is off I don't ever want to gain it back again not even a little of it LOL. Good Luck to all the ladies who are 1 year after surgery and are trying to get pregnant or who already are Have a great Sunday Mommies LOL Lori Anne pre-op Lap RNY 8/25/

I am happy that I did not do it because she is a beautiful intelligent and fun loving girl .... ahem just like her mother ROFL sorry I kill me LOL. But my plan was to finish college go immediately into law school, get my JD and start out in a fabulous law firm and live the high life. Well, my daughter came and I finished college and am getting ready to start law school in 2 years so I still can reach my goals it is just taking a little longer that is all LOL. High life here I come and I will be coming to it skinny LOL. You stick to your guns girl because even later in life if you decide you want a child you can always adopt one or help raise a foster child so you can have it all LOL. I will probably help out a foster child in a couple of years my Jessy will be off to college in 4 scant years then momma is gonna shake her tail feather and have fun LOL. Have a great day Kimmie and I can't wait for the surgery to be over already Lori Anne the wild one LOL pre-op Lap RNY 8/25/
Guest guest
http://www.niddk.nih.gov/health/nutrit/pubs/gastric/gastricsurgery.htm Women of childbearing age should avoid pregnancy until their weight becomes stable because rapid weight loss and nutritional deficiencies can harm a developing fetus. You can have a baby, you just have to wait until your weight is stable. As long as you stick with your vitamins and follow your doctors orders, there is no reason you can't have a healthy baby. Good Luck Pre-Op -- NO PREGNANCIES?!?! I just thought of this, after this surgery, there's no way that i can be able to have a child, EVER!!! How is the fetus supposed to be properly nurished inside a body that it's bearly nurishing it's self?!?! Answer me that one!

Guest guest
Sounds good to me even though it isn't true. You CAN have a child after surgery, but for the life of me I don't understand why these women WANT to. I've worked TOO hard on my weight loss to want to risk messing it up by going thru a pregnancy. UGH!! Of course I don't want any children anyway. Kimmie Lap RNY 12/19/03 343/201/135 _________________________________________________________________ Add photos to your e-mail with MSN 8. Guest guest
Hi Lori Anne You are getting CLOSE to your surgery date!! Good luck to you Hon. And THANKS for posting. I rarely hear from any women who feel like I do, and it is HEAVEN to know I'm not alone in wanting to " avoid pregnancy like the plague " . Even though I do NOT have kids, I am seriously considering having a tubal. Kimmie _________________________________________________________________ MSN 8 helps eliminate e-mail viruses.
