Guest guest
hi family. as y'all know i've been auditioning reconstructive surgeons. why? why? why are surgeons soo different? i was in shock after doc # 2 described his technique, which was not like doc #1's medial thigh lift proposal. #2's surgery takes away more skin, but leaves a LARGER scar. #1's surgery leaves a smaller scar, but may not chop away all the skin. so what would you rather have: a smaller scar or less extra skin. btw, doc #1 has more thigh lift experience, but i liked doc #2 better, because he was less " grabby " & " squeezy " . lori h. Guest guest
hey caroline. nope, all i really " need " is an inner thigh lift. the working out worked!!(for the rest of me) i'm a super pear & my thighs deflated way too much for the skin to retract:-( thanx for the feedback, girlie! i'm leaning in that direction, too, think i'll tell doc #1 that i won't mind a bigger scar. lori h. > I'd rather have a larger scar and less skin.... I learned about it at a support group meeting on this past thursday evening and wanted to check it out. I am 15 weeks post op and down 74 pounds. I am nowhere near getting plastic surgery yet but I do have a concern about it and would like to ask a question. Is there a way to get the plastic surgery done through a burn center by donating skin? I heard this and a lady at the meeting said that she could not get it done that way and had toi take out a loan for $25,000. I had my surgery done through tenncare and am concerned that I may get stuck with an apron and stuff.... anybody with advice? > >
Guest guest
Welcome to the group There's a lot of hoopla on the web about the burn center stuff, but this is just a myth that our skin can be donated... So no, this isn't an option... Many smiles Caroline Lap RNY 5/2/03 367/297/150 www.MildStonesCreations.com (click on " My WLS Journey " for photos and journal > > > I'd rather have a larger scar and less skin....
