Guest guest Posted August 9, 2003 Report Share Posted August 9, 2003 well folks this is it, my last day to eat, time to say good bye to my very best friend,FOOD, and dont think theres not a huge t-bone in refrig waiting for the grill, let the fasting begin. thats the part they left out, they left out that I would have to fast 3 days before sugery to clean my system out,scheduled for Roux-en-Y gastric bypass this Wednesday the 13th at 7:15am pst,I weghed in pre-op at 377lbs, am 39 yr old male with bmi of 50+ , have high blood pressure, arthritist in my back and a degenetive disc dease,Ninh T. Nguyen, M.D.Chief, Division of Gastrointestinal Surgery Deparment is preforming the surgery at U.C.I Medical center in Orange,Ca.I have never weighed under 200 lbs since I was in the 7th grade,grew up in Orange County,Ca (San Diego natve) since 1971 and have tried everything from weight watchers to atkins, seems like I would take off the weight just to regain it back and sometimes even gain more then when I started so this is gonna be a whole new life for me, scared somewhat because of it being major surgery, but through all the tests, sleep test, and evaluations and labs and everything else you have to do to get to this point, I have mange to live this " new life " over and over again through my mind, so I have really no concerns on weather or not im able to do what it takes to do, to apply this wonderful,life saving tool that will allow me to live a much longer and healthier life to its fullest.What scares the hell out of me , is having to fast for the next 3 days....
