Guest guest
Hi, My daughter is 4.5 and has been on SCD for 6 months. At the end of the second month we started introducing supplements (supernuthera, citramin, enzyme, b12, and a few others). Our problem is that her stool was great before diet - once a day, soft form. Since diet it has been horrible. The first two months I chalked it up to the change and die-off (we had yellow mud for awhile). I have been keeping a log and around the third month it seemed like it was starting to get a bit better (firmer) some days. We went on a month course of Nystatin to get rid of pathogen overgrowth in gut and after that her stool went permanently to orange mush (frosting consistency). We started backing things out to see if it was one of the supplements or food. She eats the same things everyday, which are very close to what she ate before diet, except for the almond flour and honey. The enzyme (last supplement) came out last week and the only change was that stool turned a bit browner and got a bit softer (loose pudding). My practitioner is now leaning toward an intolerance to the almond flour and wants me to take that out for a week. Virtually impossible, it would reduce her to eating grilled chicken and squash/carrot fries. Everything else has some form of flour in it (pancake, toast, cookie, fruit breads, pizza crust - that is it - I try everyday to introduce new but she gags most out). They further suggest if it is nuts that I could try using ground pumpkin seeds (however have no experience using themselves and I could find not one recipe either). Anyway, my question is that is has been six months of horrible stool. I believe in the premise of diet, and coincidence or not, after about three months we noticed increase in awareness and more words (still mostly non-verbal so she really can't tell me how she is feeling) however, I don't think this stool is healthy either. Seems like everything is passing through her. It is very uncomfortable for her, covering crotch all the way up back. Has anyone else experienced this????? I'd greatly appreciate any advice or thoughts. Mel's Mom
