Re: White patches

I have had a similar experience this year. I try to avoid sun

exposure on my face as much as possible, but living in Texas makes

this pretty much impossible. I used to tan evenly over my face, but

now I get patches of white and patches of brown. It's almost as if

the melanin is now concentrated in certain areas, and absent in

others. I'm not sure whether it is rosacea that had caused this, or

normal aging, as I notice it on alot of middle-aged and older people

who apparently don't have rosacea. Either way, like most things to do

with skin, I'm not sure a diagnosis is going to make any difference

because I doubt there's much can be done about it.

I've about given up on finding something to control this awful

affliction. The A/R cream seemed to work great at first, but since

coming off the oral antibiotics, I'm apparently right back to square

one. I guess it's stay on minocycline at full dose for the rest of my

life or just deal with a face that looks like a bag of pus most of

the time. It's hard not to become obsessed with this when you hate

yourself every time you look in the mirror.
