Guest guest
since the 1st appt: It's 5 weeks since the first appt and I am pleased that the flushing is still much less visible though not completely gone. My face looks more pinky red when I flush now rather than cerise purple! I was disappointed to note that over the last two or three weeks, a couple of broken veins have reappeared at the corner of my nose. 2nd App: On this appt Dr used a stronger dose of Photofacial - he is now using a new, state of the art machine called Quantam which is supposed to be THE machine for treating flushing. Ow! It certainly stung a bit more especially toward the nose but if I can bear it I'm sure most people could!! When I asked about the reappearance of the veins, Dr said (along the lines of, don't quote me word for word!) : that he had been discussing this problem with his colleague and as the treatment collapes the veins and flushing aggravates them, it was important to assist recovery from the photofacial and he recommended I took Clonodine to reduce flushing for the next two weeks to aid this. This makes sense to me. (He gave me a prescription for two weeks supply. I took them as soon as I got home and fell asleep on the settee!) This 2nd treatment lasted about 35 mins, my skin looked quite red and angry after and stung for a while. He warned me there might be some swelling but now four hours later there are no visible signs but my face feels a bit tight and slightly stingy. I have made a third appt for August. It's now Saturday and I'm pretty pleased with my skin - I actually look pale! Still a couple of broken veins around the nose area but they are much fainter and the mark on the side of my face is again fainter. Will keep you updated. Regards, PS - I hope you got my e-mail?
