I've been having major problems with my eyes lately, including dry-eye, itchy

and swollen lid margins, etc. My ophthalmologist looked at my eyes and said

there was some corneal infiltrate that he hadn't seen at our last appointment

(he always checks my corneas because he did laser eye surgery for me over 2

years ago and he always marvels at how wonderful my corneas look post-surgery).

He gave me Blephamide drops (antibiotic + steroid) and said to use 4 times a day

for the first week or so and then gradually taper off over the next 3 or 4

weeks. I've only been using them for a couple of days but my eyes feel quite a

bit better -- and they're not very bloodshot anymore. I was wondering if this

seemed a little long to anyone else? Has anyone else tried Blephamide or

Tobradex for ocular rosacea?

Hi ,

I've had good success with Blephamide for ocular rosacea. During bad eye

flares it's the one med that brings my symptoms under control the fastest.

On Dr. Nase's advice I use it several times a day for about three days (four

at most), and then take at least a two week break. In his book I think he

recommends usage for three straight days, followed by at least a 21 day

break. Good luck,

Jen

I have used Tobradex and found it immediately soothing and healing. I

think I used it for seven days. Since being on Doxicylline and using

Refresh preserv. free eye drops and Refresh PM ointment, my eyes have

not flared at all, even to the point that I can wear my contacts

again. However, my skin is still awful and pimply. Still trying

different things there.
