Guest guest
Hi, Unfortunately there is not ideal place for the treatment for anyone disease or illness. We as patients can get the run around anywhere. I have found that not all physician are knowledgeable and at the worse open-minded. Some physicians do honestly try to give you the best care they know how to, but they do not look beyond themselves for any help for you or your condition. I am not sure if they do not what to admit they do not know what to do or they do not have the time to look further. I have found that the treatment you get is often at the limit of that one physicians' own practice or clinic. There are treatment out there for pancreatitis other that: Stent, narcotics, ERCP's, TPN, just to name a few of the terms you may have heard. We as patients need to be informed, not by the physicians we see, but by the information we get from: other patient's with the same condition, books, magazines, the internet, just to name a few. Look for the outcome you want, be it a cure, relief for pain or nutrition. Than take that information to the physician and ask the questions. If the physician will not give you the answers or look for the answers to your questions: May be it is time to look for new physician. Let me tell you if I had waited for my physician to give me the answer of what to to next it would have been another stent and another, and another--and I believe I would not be here to tell you this now. There is a cure of Pancreatitis and if you want to achieve it you have to look for it and what it for yourself. Some physicians' do not look for the answers for you! gail dcp38@... wrote: > hi i keep reading about the midwest having the best hospitals for teenagers > with chronic pancreatitis could anyone tell me if any of them are in the Ohio > area? Guest guest
Hi, There are not allot of doctors who will admit ; that they even know that the Treatmenet of pancreatectomy with auto islet cell transplant exists. When the treatment is mentioned some doctors know nothing about it. Some will not research it and others will not even acknowlege it and say it does not work and so not what to discuss it. gail llakovo wrote: > Us folks from Ohio travel to Indianapolis to see the GI doc, Dr. Lehman.
