Oxycodone vs. Morphine

I have a question for any of you folks that might have tried either or both

of these meds, and what your experience might have been with them.

For BT pain, my PM doctor has had me on 15 mg Morphine - stayed on it for

several months to give it a fair shake, but it doesn't do a darn thing for my

breakthrough pain. Even when I take two or three at a time, it seems to have

absolutely no effect.

So today she prescribed 15 mg Oxycodone. Since I've not tried it before

today, I don't really have any idea what to expect, though I did try one this

afternoon and, much like the Morphine, I (disappointedly) didn't feel any

relief. Of course I'll stay on it for a while and give it a fair

shake, but I sure would like to find a BT med that actually WORKS. Hopefully

this one will. Obviously, my drug tolerance is extremely high, as most of us

ours probably is, and I know it's going to take something very strong to have

an impact... But I think I'm already " up there " in the " strong meds "

category, so I don't know where to turn next.

I sure would like to hear about others' experiences and what works/doesn't

for you, as well as your experiences specifically with Morphine and

Oxycodone. BTW, my base pain med is Methadone, and it works, for the most

part, very well.

Any help is appreciated, thank you in advance.

Peace,

Terry in KC
