Guest guest
Hello- I am looking for some information. I have a very close friend who has a 16 year old son with cystic fibrosis. I have seen this young man spend many days in and out of hospitals. His illness this time is confusing to me. Usually when he gets sick, he is coughing like crazy. this time, he looks worse than usual when he is sick, seems to be breathing hard, isn't eating well, and tired easy. When he seems to do any activity he does begin to get into coughing spells. I know he just went to the doctor last week so I know he is on antibiotics but outside the cough nothing seems to be better. He also has pain in his chest. I guess I am confused as to what causes people with Cf to go into the hospital. Sometimmes he seems fine and goes in and other times he is coughing like crazy and goes in. I am worried about him and don't understand. I always thought the cough was the best sign of an illness so how do you know if the cough isn't there but everything else is too? Is is possible that he is trying not to cough so his chest doesn't hurt? bec
