Guest guest
Lily: MRCP requires injection of Secretin. Gotta have a vein to do it. Every other time I have had anything they always put it through the central line by hand. I think Secretin is on a pump but very very slow and you can't run CT dye that slow. Its a mess I have no venous access for anything like that. the vein they got yesterday was gone before I got to the CTroom. It flushed really really slow and hurt. They told me they would have to put this dye through at 1 cc per second and I knew that would not work. Been there, done that! Even the venograms I have had done for the superior vena cava had to be done through the femoral vein in special procedures because my arms won't take the needles nad dye. This is a problem that I had long beforeI got sick. They say my veins are like a road map, all curvy, etc. etc. Ya gotta have an inch....so they tell me straight just to get an IV in and I have only a couple places liek that and they always blow! So whats a veinless person to do? Take care Kaye
