Guest guest
Hi all, I have been on Accutane for almost 2 months now - started out at 40 mg/day, but after reading Dr. Nase's book, in which he recommends a lower dose (consistent with some comments from folks here - thank you!), I have cut down to 40 mg every other day, and am considering reducing it to 40 mg every third day. Anyone know whether 40 mg every third day would be as effective as, say, 10 mg every day? It's just that I already got all my pill packs, and they are all the 40 mg doses! Anyway, my skin is looking good; the bumps (papules and pustules) are under control (I still get a few here and there, and enjoy a totally clear face every once in a while); the flushing still happens, though, and the face is still fairly pink, though I *think* it's somewhat better than before. I am very pleased that I don't need to wear makeup anymore; at most I use a little concealer on the pink cheeks and chin. I can also have a glass of wine now and then without fear of the dreaded flaming face. Yay! I do get dry skin, eyes, and chapped lips, but less so now that my dose is lower, and it is TOTALLY manageable - much, much preferable, for me, to the active rosacea skin I had before! I am thinking ahead to a post-Accutane future, and am considering Photoderm or some kind of laser treatment to get rid of the permanent pinkness. Anyone know of a reliable derm/surgeon/clinic that does this in upper NY state (e.g. Rochester, Syracuse, Buffalo)? Anyone been to the fellow in Toronto that's been mentioned a few times? Thanks,
