Guest guest
GREAT explanations. thanks for the great ideas .....we shall all put this info to user now.................Great food for thought:):) LOVE & HUGS, grdmBEV " Why Men can't Listen and Women can't read Maps " Hi, I told you that I have begun to read the book " Why Men can't Listen and Women can't read Maps " from Barbara and Allan Pease. I am only half way through but can already recommend the book to everyone, who has difficulties with the significant other :-)) The authors claim that the differences between men and women are based on genetics and they give a lot of examples to prove it. The brains of men and women have developed differently over tens of thousands of years. Men had to hunt and fight while women had to raise the kids and keep the house (cave) clean. For thousands of years this type of work sharing worked quite nicely. But during the last two centuries our environment has changed dramatically. Men lucked out, hunting for food nowadays is very easy and fighting for life isn't necessary anymore. The tasks of women haven't changed as well though. Raising kids and cleaning the house is at least as exhausting as it was in the past. And that's where many problems begin... Silke and I understand each other a lot better now. At least for us it helps to know that " unability of men to do two things at a time " is a genetic fault (almost like CF) and " unability of women to find the car in a parking lot " is genetic too :-)) That doesn't mean it is an excuse for every fault and one should try to do something about it. But it explains, why men and women have their problems with each other. Peace Torsten, dad of Fiona 5wcf e-mail: torstenkrafft@... I know he is intelligent but have often wondered how he has been such a success when he cant chew gum and walk at the same time. Genetics! I will definately have to get that book! Guest guest
It would be nice if it all ways worked out that way. But you never know with genetics... in our family hubby is the one that loses the car and I read the maps. :-) Dawn mom of 4, 6 and under, the youngest wcf --- Torsten Krafft Torstenkrafft@...> wrote: > Hi, > > I told you that I have begun to read the book > " Why Men can't Listen and Women can't read Maps " > from Barbara and Allan > Pease. Guest guest
Ditto!! In fact if we get lost my hubby pulls over to buy a map and hands it to me! (We are a pair! I'm the scientist and mathematician and he's the linguist/writer.) I can't wait to see how genetics plays out here to our children, one boy and one girl. She already seems to be taking after me. Last night we went to the traveling carnival (it comes to town each year for the 4th of July). While on the carousel she starts looking up to see how it runs, why the horse moves up and down! Yet, she's a chatter-box like her Daddy! And Adam is being so social with smiles and coo's he'd rather do that than eat! -Crystal mom to Adam 4 mo wcf, le 2 1/2 yr wocf > > Hi, > > > > I told you that I have begun to read the book > > " Why Men can't Listen and Women can't read Maps " > > from Barbara and Allan > > Pease.
