Guest guest
Marilyn, My daughter, has had pain, redness and edema in her knees for years. Sometimes, her ankles are involved but mostly it's her knees. She was just diagnosed with RP a few months ago, but I now wonder if she has had it for years. The doctors told us her joint pain was related to her colitis, but who knows. I don't think the medical establisment knows half as much as they pretend to know. Yes, I am getting fed up with doctors, and yes, I do sound a bit bitter. I think I need another joke. Guest guest
Marilyn, I was having horrible pains in the BOTTOMS of my feet, I couldn't stand to put my feet on the floor. Doc said I hadan inflamed Achilles tendon! And, of course, no one knows how I got that! I tell you, between the Achilles tendon, the temporary (I pray) deafness, I'm starting to really wonder about this RP. Surely it can't be blamed for everything, can it??? I hope you feel better, can you send a couple of Lemon bar my way??? LOL, Judy O

Guest guest
Judy, I had the same problem with my Achilles tendon and feet. I had PT and they used ultrasound and Dexamethazone with Electric Stem and it finally healed. The doc has me doing heel stretches on the stairs for two minutes twice a day plus stretching after I sit a long time. The stretching really helps and I no longer have painful feet. He said that the stretching is the most important thing to do and that my tendon injury was probable a result of tight tendons. Hope this info is helpful to you. Guest guest
Marilyn, I have not received any notice about a class action suit. Up until 4 months ago all of my lab work was done by Cline and Beechem. Let me know if you get anymore info. If I hear anything I will let you know. Sandy > Hi All, > > I have a question. Guest guest
Gert, I would call the doctor. He evidently has an infection of some sort. It would probably be okay to give him Tynenol also, but I would also call the doctor and ask what to do. Don't let it go past tomorrow! Guest guest
Thanks Bill I did call the Dr. I called his neur, but his doc on call called me back. He was young and arragant. I then called his urologist that did the test on Monday, he wasn't in either but the resident was very helpful, he didn't know what MSa was but he looked it up while I was on hold. He told me that if the temp rose any more to bring him in. After Tylenol it went down to 100.4.His temp is down to 99.8 this morning. I think we need to get his urine checked for infection. Guest guest
Gert: I have been reading your posts, and I too think a visit to ER is in order. It is possible to check at home for a UTI with the UTI strips, but that is not always the cause of a fever for MSA patients. Ken's normal temperature was always 97, and if it went up, he always had an infection, but not always a UTI. Sometimes it is aspiration pneumonia, and the two can be together because they swallow less well when they have a fever. Also, even a slight fever will make them dehydrated, and you cannot get them to drink enough, so they have to be hydrated intravenously for a while. Also, when Ken had a fever, he became very rigid and hard to get in the car. The people at the ER told me to call 911 and get him brought in by the paramedics. That way they would see him sooner, and I wouldn't be taking the chance he might fall. We had several trips to ER, and it was NEVER a false alarm. Go now. Guest guest
Gert, Remember about infections - the temperature tends to go up in the afternnon and evening (when doctors are not available). Watch it closely this afternoon. If if goes up and won't come down, get him to the ER, don't wait for a doctor. I never hesitated to call 911.
