Guest guest
Hi, I was wondering if any of your children have presented with leg pains, very greasy stools, low weight, frequent sinus infections, Upper resp. infections, malabsorpion? Our son is 4 years old and is just now being tested for CF. Isn't it impossible to have CF for four years and be undiagnosed? He has only had pnuemonia once. He is fixing to be admitted to the hospital for an array of tests. Finally though, they too are concerned about his weight and oily stools! He is 4 and weighs 32 lbs. You can count his ribs through his back and it doesn't matter what he eats, he will not gain. He just goes to the bathroom more. He is going to have a fecal fat study, endoscopy, sweat test, celiac disease ruled out, look at pancreatic enzymes and so on....He will also be started on NG tube feeding. If it helps, he will have a G tube placed. Is the sweat test 100% diagnostic? I would really appreciate any advice you may have. I am a nervous wreck!
