Guest guest
Folks, I PEMmed Kay on the MRI/MRCP issue. But let me clarify... An MRI of the pancreas visualizes the entire organ. An MRCP visualizes the pancreatic ducts. In that sense, it's like an ERCP, except that it's non-invasive. I've had both, and though I hate being in that cursed MRI machine tube, an MRCP beats an ERCP since I don't have to spend a week in the hospital afterwards. Guest guest
Thanks, ReAnn, I hope your day is going well! Glad you told me about the empty stomach for the MRCP, I don't remember the nurse telling me that. I have it around 9:30 am next Fri. so that is good. As for the fat test, I am on my 3rd day of 100g and tomorrow I start collecting. I am keeping track of everything I eat, but I don't think it can be really " exact " as in I could actually be eating like anywhere from 90-110 grams each day. I don't know how to be sure that it is exactly 100. It is hard for me to make stuff at home cause I am so busy most of the day, so I have gotten nutritional info for fast food places and have basically been eating that. My other option would be to sit down with a tablespoon and eat butter. Ha Ha--how disgusting. :-) :-) :-) Kay > Hi Kay, > > I could be wrong, but I think the MRI and MRCP are the same thing, except the > MRCP focuses on our internal organs and an MRI can be done of such things as > an ankle.
