I have only tried Inderal (Propranolol). I found it very effective,

but after a few months of taking them the effectiveness seemed

diminished somewhat. I tried them both on a steady dose, and pulse

doses for certain days. They are still quite effective but with a

higher dose than when I first started. I only use them occasionally

now.

They do seem effective for the neural type of flushing/blushing from

stress or slight embarrassment. They seemed to help me with flushing

from heat also, to some degree. I don't know if that would be true

for everyone though.

I would like to try Clonidine next. I showed my derm the page in Dr.

Nase's book about it and she agreed. Just haven't asked her to write

the prescription yet.

Don't know about the cost, my insurance has paid for them.

How can you just take inderal some of the time? I have been taking it for 4

or 5 months now mainly for my headaches which I don't get anymore. I ran out

of inderal close to a weekend one time and couldn't get it refilled for 4

days because my doctor wasn't in on monday. By the time I got it filled I was

getting so dizzy from not having it and one of the worst headaches ever where

I felt sick to my stomach. It still seems to be working well enough for me

after 5 months.

I experienced dizziness mainly because I was getting a migraine headache

withdrawal. I don't know if others would experience the same thing I did

because I have a problem with migraine headaches and that's why i'm taking it

in the first place I don't get headaches hardly ever anymore.
