I've had 5 V-beam treatments (on the nose only) with no bruising, redness, or any problems. All my redness is gone, flushing is just about gone. I can feel my flare wanting to start, but my nose is not getting hot or red anymore during these times. My doctor says I am finished with treatments. Of course, I will probably have to go back for follow-up treatment sometime, but it could be anytime from 1 year to 5 years depending on how I individually react. I am VERY happy with the results I have gotten from the treatments. V-beam > Has anyone had this done on the board? And if so, how was the > outcome? It is made by Candela Corp which is a Canadian company, but the lasers are made in the USA. I wonder if you could contact them thru the web and get a list of doctors in your area who has V-beam. Or write to the following address and request doctors in your area. Here is an address from one of their brochures: Candela Corporation, 530 Boston Post Road, Wayland, MA 01778, USA. Guest guest Posted October 29, 2001 Report Share Posted October 29, 2001 Hi Wanda, I'm sorry to hear about your experience, I spent a lot of the day yesterday very upset because of an apparent delayed reaction to my first photoderm treatment. I am calling the doctor this morning. I hope your doc can provide some comfort. I recently started on Zoloft to try to help me deal with this problem. Maybe it can help you. I have only been on it for 6 days and they say it takes about 2 weeks. Other people in the group have had success with this type of medication. V-beam can take longer to show results because it is gentler. Find out what the setting were and compare with others on here; perhaps he is making the settings too aggressive. v-beam > I called my doctor and he said this was normal. My nose looks great. All of the broken little veins are gone. And I had alot of them. I really can,t tell about my cheeks are chin yet. I went to a plastic surgeon to have the v-beam done. He really didn,t tell me anything. He said; something about a count of 120, but I didn,t know what he was talking about. Guest guest Posted November 1, 2001 Report Share Posted November 1, 2001 I believe the 120 is the number of " blasts " or " pulses " . Mine have been in that range too. 140 I remember one day. I have V-Beam treatments the same day as the Photoderm. Your settings must be much higher though because I have not been bruising. But the good side to yours is, you'll get results faster. My doctor likes to take a more gradual approach so the patient doesn't have any " down time " with bruising. But... they make more money because it takes more treatments. I was trying to locate a doctor near me and contacted Candela directly. I live in the 7th largest city in the U.S. and they told me no doctor here is using Vbeam yet. I then asked for the nearest doctors and they provided me a list of 4 doctors within 2-3 hours drive who use Vbeam plus 3 who use SPTL. They were very quick and helpful in their response. Their website for info on Vbeam is: www.clzr.com/vbeamlaser/default.html Their U.S. phone number is 1-. The name of the person who emailed me is Yvonne Scherer. Her direct phone number is 1-508- 358-7637 x227. I did not speak with her, only emailed. I have not seen any of the doctors and don't know any more about Vbeam than what I've read here and read on their website. If you're thinking about Vbeam, take a look at their website and contact them. They will gladly tell you which doctors near you use Vbeam. At least then you will know where to start looking.
