Hi all,

It has been at least 6mths since my last photoderm treatment. I have

had 13 in total. I guess it is now time to report in to you all on

my progress:

1. I still flush from time to time and sometimes if really

embarrassed I still blush. The effect of this is a lot less dramatic

before. Recently I got really embarrassed and blushed for the first

time in about 4 mths, I felt really hot and was thinking oh no I'm

going to be bright red. I went to the bathroom and was amazed to see

just a soft pink hue on my cheeks. Flushing reactions are the same -

very light and very infrequent. I would say photoderm has reduced

blushing and flushing by about 90-95%.

2. My skin continues to improve, even 6mths after my last tx. About

2 weeks ago I had 3 days of horrible flushing, I had changed nothing

and prior to this episode had not had any problems for 5.5 mths. I

was devistated. Within 3 days the flushing cleared and I noticed

more improvement in my skin. This has been the general cycle for me -

photoderm, a week of blis, a few days of hell and flushing then

improvement. It seems that the cycle is continuing even 6mths after

treatment - my skin is still improving. I do not know what cause

this flush/improvement at 5.5 mths post tx but it happened and my

skin looks even better than before.

3. Although I didn't really have acne rosacea I did on occasion have

those largish blind pimples (just 1 at a time) appear on my chin and

once or twice on my cheek. They left some purple/pink flat marks

where they had been. Photoderm erased these marks, as well as a

largish freckle I had on my jaw. I have had no recurrance of these

pimples - my skin is totally blemish free and has been for about 12

mths now (since starting tx's).

4. I can see no visible capillaries

5. My skin looks more youthful

6. I had general redness on my cheeks and chin, this has 100%

resolved itself. On an average day you would never guess I once had

rosacea or redness. Sometimes there is a slight pink hue but hey

most people with fair skin have this anyway!

7. In Australia where I live we have had a horrid summer (up to

40c), the heat has been really oppressive, like being in an oven. In

the past i have had a heap of trouble with heat and my skin, but I

didn't have much of a drama at all during the most recent heat wave.

8. I continue to use Neutrogena extra gentle cleanser, wash my face

with bottled water, use purple emu extra rich moisturisor and

Clinique stay true foundation. I drink tonnes of water (not bottled)

and eat healthily - avoiding trigger foods to make sure the rosacea

does not return. I swim in the clorinated pool for exercise and go

walking on the beach frequently.

Life is good.

Photoderm has had many ups and downs for me, many times I felt I was

getting know where - often I felt like giving up. Gee am i glad i

didn't now. During my tx, my dr never once enduced a flush, he never

once used more than one pass in a session and never once used a

filter higher than 590. I have never had any side effects from my

treatments - although life was very difficult and depression during

this entire experience. My lifestyle has altered, I am rosacea

freindly these days. When I look back I did everything you could

imaging to excabate my rosacea! Now I am more aware and take steps

to be rosacea friendly. Even though I no longer have the symptoms I

realise I could revert back if I am not careful!

Well Happy New Year, I have now been on this list for 2.5years.

Thanks to all for sharing my ups and downs along the way..........

Lub

Tracey from Australia
