Guest guest Posted August 27, 2001 Report Share Posted August 27, 2001 Dear , According to Dr. Nase, you must wait at least 4 - 6 months before having any surgery or laser (including photoderm) once you have stopped taking accutane. Other doctors insist on an even longer waiting period. My feeling is the waiting period is dose dependent -- the lower the dose of accutane the shorter the wait; however, it does make sense to play it safe and wait at least six months. I am currently taking low-dose accutane, but plan to do laser in the future (as well as plastic surgery). I will wait 6 to 9 months to have these procedures done.
