All these problems are circulatory-related so I am sure there's a connection. None of the doctors I've ever gone to have been concerned or interested, though. Guest guest
i have always had very " normal " blood pressure. i had always received comments from drs and nurses that my blood pressure was so good. about 2 months ago i went in for a check up. my blood pressure was very high! i've kept track of it since and it is still very high. i'll probably need to go on medication soon for it. so for the majority of the time i've had rosacea (15 years) i've had normal blood pressure. syd
Guest guest
Hi Sallie, Yes, someone else, Petelex, I believe, mentioned a connection between the two. For the record, my blood pressure is low as is my father's who has rosacea. My mom and the rest of my siblings who have no rosacea have had problems with high blood pressure. However, my mom's fraternal twin sister has lower blood pressure than me and has beautiful pale skin. All of her children have rosacea though. I don't know about their blood pressure though. Thanks for bringing this up! Take care, Matija > Dear All, > > I would like to know if low blood pressure is a common characteristic > for rosaceans. Guest guest
I have low blood pressure, also. Even when pregnant. The nurse, when taking my pressure at about 8 months or so was amazed.
Guest guest
, Good question. I was thinking something generally below the " norm " of 120/80...but even that could be considered low BP depending upon age and weight combinations. For any serious survey of this, we would need more than just the random question like mine. Sallie " carrie i. Guest guest
Sallie, I think you hit the nail on the head here about some of us. I found an article which states high blood pressure may be caused by a deficiency in Nitric Oxide. http://www.ucihealth.com/News/Releases/nitricOxideAndBloodPressure.htm I do have a question for you though. With my aunt who has low blood pressure and very pale skin, what do you think accounts for that? She's never had rosacea at all. As well, I've known a few people with very high blood pressure, and their faces get very red from time to time. I was just curious about those things. It is so curious that some of us have low blood pressure. Thanks for bringing this up! Take care, Matija > > > Dear All, > > > > > > I would like to know if low blood pressure is a > > > common characteristic > > > for rosaceans. > > > > interesting thought...what is considered " low " > > blood pressure though? > > > > carrie > > > > __________________________________________________ > >

Guest guest
For what it's worth, my blood pressure is normally about 90/50, and has been measured as low as 80/40, but I don't think this information is worth much at all. It has been that way my whole life, and no doctor has ever been the least bit concerned. I don't think it's a problem. My understanding is that a sudden drop in blood pressure below what is normal for that person, is a problem. But blood pressure that is consistently low is a good thing, not anything to worry about. On this list, we all know that body temperature varies from person to person, and blood presssure isn't any different. What is normal for one person, may not be for the next. M. Guest guest
To weigh in on the BP issue: Mine is usually in the low 100s-120 over 70ish. However, I haven't had it taken in almost a year (incredible, since I work in a health clinic), so I had one of our medical techs take it this afternoon. The reading was 96/54. You know, provided you are in general good health, a low BP is not a bad thing. Women tend to run much lower than men, as do people who are very athletic. It's more problematic to have high BP. On a related note, my pulse is usually very fast, with a resting rate around 80--even when I was a teen-aged gymnast and in great shape! __________________________________________________
