My scar is exactly 6 inches as promised, I measured it. It has faded

to an almost natural skin tone color for me. Its not bad at all. I

mean it is noticeable but not horrible. Now my tummy tuck scar which

goes hip to hip makes me kinda look like a volkswagon. LOL

see - I didnt even think about that. I know I will definetely have a tummy tuck scar. I guess I was just thinking that my c-section scar is so unnoticeable (even if you lift up my tummy and look for it - lol). But with no belly there to hide it - I bet I would notice it a whole lot more - lol....

This surgery will be my third. I just look at this way...I will

never get lost, I have a built in map on my stomach. 1993 C-Sec

They had to go back and widen the incision as I gave birth to a

3month old. He was 12 pounds. So the stretch-marks were huge and

plenty. Then in 2001 I finally had the repairs for all the damage

he did to me (Hernias) So I can pretty much bet for an open.

HI ,

Not everyone is sent home with the same medications. I only had Loritab aka liquid vicodine.

I myself did not have the urge to burp so I am not sure about all the burping that people are talking about. I had mine open so that might make a difference.

You just had surgery a few days ago. It is normal that you feel full after a couple of bites. It does take time to build up to the amount that they are recommending. Just try to get in the most protein that you can because that is what will help you heal the quickest. Just keep sipping the water and the shakes and you will gradually build up the right amount.

I think with LAP, they actually fill your stomach cavity with air or gas, to give them more room...and so, hence the extra burping.

Hi Maggie

each kaiser program is different, i didnt get anything wheni left the hospital other than liquid lortab for pain, which gave me headaches so i used tylenol caplets. Sorry i cant help you out on the rest of it, but i am sure someone in here will help you because i had seen posts a week or so ago asking about medication and gallbladders and carafate for the stomach, and people were talking about stool softners the other day

Hi Colleen,

Actually those questions were from and I replied to him with a

long letter and when I posted it that's what appeared...very strange.

Then I tried again, rewriting this long response and when I posted it

somehow I was offline and the whole thing disappeared...so I went

back to bed!!

I will try again... they say the third time is a charm, but thanks

for responding anyway!

Best,

Maggie

Hi ,

Every medical group is different. I was in Richmond and they gave me

two large bottles of carafate, the stomach coater and one large

bottle of hydrocodone, a synthetic codeine because codeiane nauseates

me...well so does this stuff. Thankfully, I never had any pain so

after one dose of it, I quit taking it. I finished almost one bottle

of carafate, and I'm done with that too. I feel fine.

Too much food???

Richmond has us only eating 3 meals a day, each consisting of a two

oz portion of sugar free pudding, yogurt or cream soups oh and

applesauce.

That's it...no shakes, they're verboten...not allowed. I'm never

hungry, but I do get very weak and started eating a little string

cheese and the protein kicks in almost immeditately. I'm not supposed

to go to stage three until my " two week " post-op which is scheduled

for 3 weeks and one day after my surgery... and it's with Dr. park,

who didn't even assist in my surgery..I'll never make it. Last night

I had 2 ozs of egg drop soup from the Chinese restaurant, I really

wanted hot & sour but I'm trying to be good. Anyway, the soup was

full of egg and it settled very nicely. So far, nothing has bothered

me.

As for water... I have no trouble drinking the 64 ozs of water. I

just keep sipping all day long with the exception of the one hour

after meals. (meals???) What I like to do is get a bottle of propel,

they sell them in 32 oz bottles at walmart, and I dilute it in half

with water, so I get 64 ozs total. I find propel to be too sweet

right out of the bottle but you need to suit your own taste... Sobe

lean is good too, and Albertson's makes a flavored water call Fruit

excellence that is very good but it isn't clear like propel, not that

it matters. I dilute that even more but again, that's personal taste.

Also... sugar free popsicles are the very best way to get liquid. My

favorite is Nestles SUGAR FREE Fruit Fuel, be careful, the sugared

ones are in the same type box but of course it doesn't say sugar free.

Popsicle brand are just ok.... Dreyer's sugar free fruit pops are

great too..Raley's has these(Nestles) on sale now for .99 which is a

great buy!

Ok, I think that's it...you already ready that burping is normal as

well as the more musical version.

Richmond didn't give me a stool softener, but reccommends Benefiber.

Someone else suggested an herbal tea that's call Smooth Moves from

GNC. I haven't tried it yet but plan to.

Take care,

Maggie

Where are you? In Ontario we get it at Costco, Loblaws, Dominion and many other

stores.

here is the phone number of the distributor:

Tel. :

You can also fill out a form on their website under " contact us " for more

information.

http://www.billybee.com/en/index.html

The product keeps for a while and comes in a large size 1 kg (we're metric up

here)

frosted plastic hive shaped container with a capped nozzle. That size sells for

under $7,00

(cdn.) so it may pay you to order several containers to be shopped. Or ask them

if they

sell to the U.S. or if their is product in the Staes that is similar.

I live in New York and buy Bee honey at Stop & Shop. They also have

Friendship dry curd cottage cheese (farmer's cheese), which we appreciate,

since we're not dairy-free. :)

u got when i first was diagnoised with NS. I still get

intense pain about once a week and i have had a

headache non stop since Jan 05 when i was first

diagnoised, It sounds like NS to me.
