Dinner I can either have another 2-3 ounces of a cream soup or I usually just have a little more Jello and 2 ounces of juice with water of crystal light or sugar free Tang. Guest guest
Hey Sandi. I take the Bariatric Advantage ones and yes, I love the flavors. I will try that more water thingie. I was thinking that I was taking them too soon after eating. I mean as soon as I swalled my last morsel of food, I would take the vitamin and then shortly after that, the vitamin. I would wait 2 hours then the calcium. I will try that. Again thank you. Pam Marsh --- " Sandi H. Guest guest
What I do is, I drink my Pro-Complex shake for breakfast, and shortly after that I take one multi-vitamin and chew it thoroughly. At least a half hour to hour later, when I start drinking my water, I take my itty bitty 1/2 of a cholesterol pill with water and then I chew down my iron pill. I resume drinking my water and then maybe an hour later (not too soon after the iron) I bite off ½ of one of my calcium pills. (I always really preferred the 200 mg calcium pills to the 400 mg, even if they are more expensive.) I suck on the calcium like a lozenge (they say you absorb it better through the mouth membranes that way). Then a little later in the morning I finish that calcium pill. After lunch I chew the 2nd multi-vitamin (or if I forget, I take the 2nd multi-vitamin after dinner). Then during the afternoon, I take half of my 2nd calcium pill, and finish it sometime before bedtime. It kind of feels like I'm having small snacks, when I'm just taking my vitamins during the day. Also, I'm spacing the vitamins out as recommended by the Bariatric Advantage representative recommended. Don't take the Iron with calcium, space them apart and the body cannot absorb more than 400 mg of calcium at one time. Also, the multi-vitamins are better absorbed on a full stomach. It also helps that I have a pill box with 4 compartments for each day of the week that holds all my vitamins for each day. That way I make sure not to miss anything. --Sandi > > > Robynn, I concur everything you have said. Here > > is > > > one thing to keep in mind that I have just figured > > > out. Guest guest
I have the pill box but only AM/PM which as worked well. I space out the calcium two hours post iron but maybe taking the iron and multi together is too much. I take the iron (chew it) and as soon as it is gone, I immediately take the vitamin. I will stop doing that. Maybe that is what the nagging feeling is about. All I know is when I don't take them at all, the nagging is not there and I want to say that I did it only to see if it might be the vitamins and I think I have my answer. Thanks again Sandi for the tips as always. Pam Marsh --- " Sandi H.
Guest guest
Vitamin D supplements aren't really necessary in most children. The exception would be a child with very dark skin who spends very little time outdoors. Even a few minutes of sunlight a day on the hands and face is sufficient. Guest guest
They should be fine, but if you're really worried, Cod Liver oil is a beneficial supplement that provides vitamin D. > We have been on the diet for almost two months, now that winter is here > I am concerned about vitamin D.Should I be giveing my son asd and his > big brother and little sister vitamins and if so which come in liquid > and where is the best place to order from in Ontario > Canada? Guest guest
MY son eats the following: watermelon ,apples peeled and seeded and ripe bananas,he eats meat white and red, we give him ascenta omega fish oil)hide in water) he eats peas and sometimes broccoli. If I make the yoghurt it is only for recipes at this point as I am trying to find out more about introducing the yoghurt.Yes here is my question. What should I do for Calcium and any other minerals or vitamins a four year old should have? any suggestions on what company I should deal with to purchase them.I need the supplements to be easier to administrate as he will not inatke anything voluntarily, liquid perferrably. I am itching to see the DAN docter in the new year but am concerned that I should be giving him and my other son some supplements to replace things such as calcium since they don't drink goats milk any more. See vatamin D aswell?? Thanks to all and happy holidays .P.S I have read BVTC but would like a parents suggestion aswell .Thanks TONI WINDSOR CANADA
