Guest guest Posted December 13, 2001 Report Share Posted December 13, 2001 Hi guys, I want to clarify that although I have been on nicomide and have been clear of p & p, that part of rosacea was never huge for me although I did have some. I am also on a low carb/ high protein diet and I think that has helped and lastly I am on the birth control pill to control hormones and that has also helped..... I guess what I am saying is that I'm not claiming nicomide is a miracle drug, just that it is designed to help with the acne component of rosacea and I think it has helped me. Therefore, it would mainly help with the acne portion of rosacea. My insurance covers all but $20/ per month for 60 tablets. So far for me it still seems to be working. I started it for p/p's and they are less but what it really seems to have helped is with my flushing and the horrible heat sensation my face had for hours each day. That has really diminished and I'm almost afraid to say it is because of the Nicomide, but I don't know what else to attribute it to. I used to use this at night, and recently gave up after my face start to flushing due to steroid. I had been use this product for a while since it was on market, used to be a big fan of Estee Lauder, I did not notice it do me any good or bad except it feels wonderful.
