Photoderm treatment #2

Hi,

I decided to go ahead and do treatment #2 of 5-6. I was thinking

of delaying because of my bad acne or infection I had developed. My

photoderm doctor said it was probably formed from the soap I was

using and told me to stop. He gave me a topical that contains the

following: Retinoic Acid .1% Hydroquinone 6% Hydrocortisone 1% Cream.

He said to just put this on the ance or infected area. I had hear

that Hydrocortisone was bad to use, but is it okay for me??? Another

thing that worried me was he told me he wanted me to go in for a

Dermabrasion a week before my next treatment to help clear up my

skin. Is this okay to do?????? I'm really confused because everyone

has been telling me different things. I would appreciate any

information anyone has to offer.

Thank you!

I don't know about the compatibility of acne and photoderm, but some words

from on high are as follows:

- No steroids on the face of cea sufferers. Not ever. Ever! :)

- Dermabrasions are strong irritants and should therefore not be performed

on cea skin.

Have you looked into Accutane-based treatments? Low-dose accutane is used

in the treatment of cea, and I understand that Accutane can also be

helpful in the treatment of acne. Keep in mind, however: high-dose

Accutane is _very_ bad for cea.

Hope I've cleared at least some things up,

Stuart
