Guest guest
In my opinion, it's always worthwhile to visit a top-notch doc/hospital with any disease, but especially with pancreatitis. There are lots of excellent medical centers and physicians in the mid-west. If you just go to a " status-quo " doc they are liable to miss some important aspect of the disease. Down the road, that can cause even more problems and complications. BTW, could you please sign your name and state so we know who you are and where you are lcoated? Thanks, Jerry/NC ********************************* The premere hospital/doctor for Chronic Pancreatitis I would also be interested to know if you all think it's worth the trip to visit a top > hospital/doctor in the early stages of a teenager's chronic or acute > pancreatitis experence? Thanks in advance too.

Thanks in advance too. Many of us have traveled to various parts of the country in order to get good medical care. The Database section of this site has names and hospital affiliations of GI doctors who have helped several of us. Please, as Jerry asked, tell us where you're located. -Ellen

Guest guest
Yes, The sooner you are treated. The better the out come. I am assuming that you are talking about the surgical treatment of pancreatits, the pancreatectomy with auto islet cell transplant. The less trauma and inflammation the pancreas receives the less islet cell you loose. gail smokey888x2 wrote: > would be where and who? And if more than one, would appreciate that > information.
