Guest guest
What you describe may be prerosacea or mild rosacea. Alcohol is a very common trigger for rosacea symptoms as are the sun, heat, cold, and spicy foods. When you have mild rosacea the symptoms can come and go. I don't know how long you have been on Metrogel but sometimes it takes a while to help the skin and sometimes it does not help at all. Noritate and Metrocreme are are other topicals you could try. In addition, if your skin is not responding to topicals, your dermatologist could prescribe a course of antibiotics. The important thing is to treat the symptoms at this early stage so they do not progress. Many people with rosacea do not have the acne form but acne can appear if the disease progresses. I would read the archives of this board and also go the National cea Society website for basic information on rosacea. a Not sure if I have cea >I am not sure if I have cea. Guest guest
One should not fight through irritation when suffering from cea. If something irritates your skin, you should not use it. At the same time, however, Noritate/Metrogel are supposed to be wonderful (and non-irritating) for cea skin. Might pay to try them out. Guest guest
For years, my nose got red every day. I didn't know why - it just seemed to happen. This lasted for about 12 years before I started having problems. I agree with a, treat it early. Not sure if I have cea > I am not sure if I have cea.
