Jody,

> Was her tummy distended before you added the squash and zucchini?

Yes. Her tummy was puffy before SCD. Then after 10 days into SCD, I

introduced banana which gave her gas. Her tummy got more bloated and it

has never decreased since.

> I would try enzymes as several people have already suggested.

OK. Should I try the broad spectrum one from Kirkman lab?

Jody,

Thank you so much. Will definitely look at Houston's enzyme.

To recap, my daughter is currently eating:

1. chicken soup made with chicken, carrot and celery (no eat celery).

2. home made pear sauce

3. home squeezed pear juice

4. eggs

5. zucchini (peeled and boiled)

6. butternut squash (skinned, boiled with some water and mashed)

Do you think she could be intolerant to eggs and carrot? Since she

has been eating both since Intro Diet and she eats both everyday.

Could you please give some suggestion on what to serve to her? I will

take out celery from the soup as you suggested. Am thinking of

removing eggs and carrots too since these are the things that has

been there since beginning when her bad reaction started. That

doesn't leave much in her diet.

Suggestion about breakfast will be most helpful. Currently she's

eating eggs every breakfast, with pear sauce.

Hi ,

I highly suggest a 96Food Allergy Test through Alletess labs. One

tube of blood and quick results. I asked our DAN! doc about ordering

this after we started the SCD in late October as my daughter (just 2

in Oct) seemed to be getting worse on this diet. She is

PDD/autistic. We mailed in the test in late December and just got

the results of the allergy test and she is allergic to eggs,

almonds, pecans, walnuts, cashews, coconut, etc. which are in many

of the SCD recipes. We are now going to start a modified SCD regimen

adding in some potatoes since she was not allergic to them, and

using an enzyme supplement to break down the disaccharides to at

least have something to feed her and make some bread or crackers

with since nut flours are out... I have also considered giving up,

but am willing to try a modified diet to help her.

A couple of ideas that our DAN! doc just suggested include pork

rinds (just pork and salt no flavoring) since these are crunchy,

salty and high in protein and sunflower seed butter. I just found

both at a local natural food store.
