Guest guest
Hi , so sorry to hear that. I'm no expert but just a thought: have you had an allergy test done at all? Could it be possibly she is now eating more of something she is allergic/intolerant to? Dairy? Have you looked into oxelate issues (LOD) - from what I hear some kids are intolerant of those, some nuts are full of them. Not sure but that might be something worth exploring. Guest guest
Natasa, Thanks for your reply. Nope, I have not done allergy test yet. The problem is I'm not sure what she might be intolerant to. Her diet is sooo restrictive now, there is hardly anything else to take out. Her diet consits of: 1. Eggs 2. Chicken soup made with chicken, carrot, celery (not eaten) 3. Home made pear sauce 4. Home squeezed pear juice 5. Butternut squash 6. Zucchini Basically intro diet plus zucchini and butternut squash. > > > > Hi, > > > > I received some questions but no answers to my previous post and I'm > > desperate, so I'm posting it again. > > > > My daughter has been on SCD since Nov 26. Guest guest
, Thanks for the reply. Nope, I have not tried enzymes. Am considering it but do not know which to use. Any suggestion? Have not tried a lot of the things you mentioned. The supplements she's taking are: probiotics, vitamin C, B6 (supernutera, which contains magnesium), calcium, cod liver oil. She is also taking singulair granules. Yes, she is on intro diet. Her diet consits of: 1. Eggs 2. Chicken soup made with chicken, carrot, celery (not eaten) 3. Home made pear sauce 4. Guest guest
, Thanks for the reply. Does die-off take so long? Shouldn't die-off usually be accompanied by something good? Her stool was greenish for 1st day, and grayish white for 2nd day. After that, the poop is rather normal. Formed. But is orangey brown in color with bits of carrots in it. > > > We are very disappointed and depressed and seriously considering giving > > up. She was doing so well before! Has been since begining of SCD. I can't seem to get those out because there isn't enough other food in her diet. I introduce food slowly and some foods I introduced (spinach and banana) gave gas and bad reaction. Would appreciate any suggestion. > > Can you tell me again what she's eating right now? > > > Jody > mom to -7 and -9 > SCD 1/03 >
Guest guest
, Kirkman has enzymes, colostrum, omega 3's & 6's, ... she may need extra magnesium... have you tried DMG... auditory intergration therapy? Lithium Orotate (Vitamin Research Products, 1, www.vrp.com ) a supplement you can get at the health food store can be very helpful, calming, and focusing. kellytcy tan_kelly@...> wrote: , Thanks for the reply. Guest guest
I would definitely give enzymes a go. Kirkman has a good range, I would get an all around one to start with - there is a very comprehensive enzyme guide on their website, you can download it in pdf form and print it out and have a good browse/think about which ones she might need. Also there are loads of good websites on enzymes, eg www.enzymestuff.com Also, is she getting a probiotic? My DAN says it is essential. There is a list of SCD legal stuff on http://www.pecanbread.com/supplements.html Natasa > > > > Can you tell me again what she's eating right now? > > > > > > Jody > > mom to -7 and -9 > > SCD 1/03 > > >
Guest guest
, Let's try making the soup without the celery. Is the zucchini peeled? How is it being prepared? The pear juice- is it strained to remove the pulp? Maybe that would help. How is the squash being prepared? Did you start the diet with the squash and zucchini or add them later? Is she getting enough calories? Jody mom to -7 and -9 SCD 1/

Guest guest
Jody, Thanks again for the reply. > Let's try making the soup without the celery. OK, I'll try that. > Is the zucchini peeled? > How is it being prepared? Yes, it is peeled. I boiled it in the soup. > The pear juice- is it strained to remove the pulp? > Maybe that would help. Yes, I strained it. In fact, I strained it twice just to be sure. > How is the squash being prepared? I peeled and seeded it. Then boiled it with some water till soft and mashed it up with some of the liquid left in the pot. Like making applesauce. > Did you start the diet with the squash and zucchini or add them later? I added squash and zucchini much later. > Is she getting enough calories? I don't know. But she does want to eat all the time. It's scary. She is 2 and 1/2 and about 27lb. After eating 2 eggs, a bowl of mashed squash and a glass of diluted pear juice in the morning, she still ask to eat. Is such appetite normal or healthy? Her tummy is huge and the green veins are obvious. Like when I was pregnant.
