Guest guest
Hi ReeAnn, You are not alone in this mess. I also done this nasty surgery and I have had only problems after that. Mine was done at january 1999, open and partial wrap. The surgery only hold for 6 months, and I have all this troubles back incl. a plus, inability to vomit, and yes I kown it really sucks (sorry!). The pain that I suffered in the recovering time, also was no pleasant. I´m really sorry that you are part of that too. It good go to see your surgeron to check if your wrap is still holding. Part of mine is still there but not working, my valve is weak, my eso phagus have thick areas, my hiatal hernia is back I also have had H. pylori infections on and off and chronic gastritis that I never had before fundoplication. My heart goes with you, Liane You wrote: Most of you know my digestive problems started with GERD/Reflux and I had the Nissen Fundoplication surgery in April 2000. My gall bladder was taken out at the same time and had nothing but problems every since. For the past week or 10 days I have had the same sore throat I experienced before I went to the GI for the first time and found I needed the surgery. I have been worried about something going with the surgery and mentioned it to my family doc when I saw him. Basically he told me to wait until I get in to the U of C on the 27th. One side effect of the surgery is not being able to throwup. Get the dry heaves instead. They can be real nasty..... worse than vomiting. Anyway, last night I got nauseated.. Got the dry heaves. I was outside, had just gotten out of the hottub. This time I actually threw up!!!!!! Now I know there is a problem with that surgery site and I am scared, depressed, pissed, the whole gambit of emotions...... All the pain and suffering since surgery - and it was all for nothing!!! The same problem IS back again!!! This morning I went out and looked at the area where it happened... Looks like dried blood.... If I wasn't scared before... I am now.... Thanks for letting me vent................ Lots of Gentle Hugs, ReeAnn
